Eyebrow Blocking

To block eyebrows firstly we have to do a consultation finding out if the client has sensitive skin and if they may be allergic to either glue or soap. The next step is to remove all of clients make up making sure there is nothing left in the eyebrows.

The products we need to block eyebrows :

 Clean spatula
 Pritt Stick/ Soap
 Ear Buds
 Warm Water
 Foundation to cover it up
 Disposable sponge
 Make up brushes

If using glue you have to act fast and keep the lid closed as they dry out really quickly. With the spatula take a tiny bit of glue and run it along the eyebrow opposite the direction of the growth. Then with an ear bud dip in warm water and smooth out the glue on the eyebrows so there are no lumps. Move on to the next eyebrow while the first dries a bit then go back and forth with the glue and spatula. Depending on the thickness of the eyebrow you will need 3-6 layers. To know when it is enough feel the eyebrow and when it is all one texture and feels very flat and thing dab the foundation   on the brow with a sponge relatively hard and do this until the whole brow is skin colour. Always try to match the face to the eyebrows not other way round.

If the clients eyebrows are really dark and thick instead of pinning them down you can brush them up and stick them to the forehead which will make the job easier and sometimes make it look nicer.

The first time went horribly wrong as i rushed into it and didn't listen to instructions properly about using a lot of ear buds to smooth it out so the blocking did not work out at all however when I got home i read back on my notes and tried again on my flatmate which turned out much better.

Played around with colours.

The first try -> eyebrows are lumpy and patchy and the glue is not distributed evenly. The base is also rushed.
