Elizabethan make up

After a few weeks of research about tudor cosmetics we recreated Queen Elizabeths look. We combined all of our knowledge of creating a smooth base, blocking eyebrows and the perfect lip to achieve Elizabeths beautiful pale skin and thin eyebrows.

We partnered up and started off by blocking the eyebrows using glue. After we covered it with Kryolans thick white base mixed with Illamasquas white base then matched the face to the eyebrows. The make up was very theatrical as the face was extremely white and there were no visible eyebrows. We took our own twist to it making the look either very soft with pink cheeks or very strong with red cheeks. Some also made their parents skin more pasty and powdery and others preferred a more of a glow to the skin.

After we applied a red blusher onto the apples of the cheeks and then the same colour to the lips.

My partner (on the right) had a softer more powdery finish with a peach colour cheek instead of red. The base was good however the eyebrows still needed a lot of practising.

On the same night I practised the same look on my flatmate Yasmin and it turned out to be much better.
